Finding a Way: Kids Leading with Grit
What an incredible day for the Mid Fairfield 2013 Elite hockey team! On a super hot day, these determined 13-year-olds hosted their own floorball clinic fundraiser, and it was a huge success.
In true hockey community fashion, older teens jumped in to help with check-in and merchandise sales, supporting their younger teens without hesitation. The young hosts ran the event with energy, showing that when kids take initiative, amazing things happen.
A huge thank you to the our Hockey Icons Jonathan Quick, Blake Wheeler, Mike Komisarek and Matt Mouson who came out to support this kids-led initiative. Instead of waiting for parents to send out emails selling popcorn, these players decided to “Find a Way” themselves, planning, promoting, and executing their own fundraiser to cover tournament costs.
We also want to extend a big thank you to the Darien Youth Depot, who generously let us use their space for the event. Their support made this meaningful day possible.
We’re proud to support this team, and any team or teen initiative, showing the courage and grit to make things happen. Through our support, we hope to encourage more youth to step up, lead, and create their own paths forward.

Book Signing Events!
In Partnership With Rising Stars CT!
We had an incredible time at the Darien Ice House hosting two unforgettable book signings with rising stars and fans of Grit Pile Kidz!
Special thanks to Matt Moulson for joining us and sharing his insights, inspiring young athletes. These events weren’t just about books—they were about connection, passion, and hearing firsthand from rising hockey stars about the grit and resilience it takes to chase their dreams.
Seeing kids light up as they met their heroes, shared stories, and walked away with signed copies was truly special. Huge thanks to everyone who came out and made these moments unforgettable!
